Rohan Maragh came to Canada from Jamaica on a Work Permit as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic. When his employment ended at the local Case IH Dealer due to the downturn in the economy, he desperately wanted to stay in the community but was restricted to finding employers that would go through the difficult work of updating his Work Permit with the Canada Border Services Agency. Rohan came to SouthEast Advocates for Employment and he was matched with a job listing as a Vehicle Dismantler with new local business JS Truckmart. An Employment Consultant helped Rohan through the process of updating his work permit with Immigration and consulted with the employer on their responsibilities under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Here is a picture of Rohan at his new job. This was a great fit for meeting the needs of both employer and employee, and assisting them through a complicated hiring process.
